In addition to the annual NIAS-fellowships, the Dutch L’Oréal Unesco For Women in Science programme has established the Rising Talents prizes (worth €3500, €2000 and €1000) for young talented women researchers in recognition of their academic achievements and future potential.

The Rising Talents Prize (EN)

The sum is to be spent on research-related activities at the discretion of the laureates. 

L’Oréal Belgilux & the Netherlands and the Netherlands Commission for Unesco and the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) have joined hands to present these prizes. Annually, KHMW selects a jury from its members. In 2022, the jury was chaired by Inge Bryan, cyber security expert and a board member of the KHMW. 

Who’s eligible? 

Women PhD candidates or postdocs (max. three years post-PhD) may apply. Maternity leave, part-time work and family care may be deducted.. Candidates submit an application on a research topic in one of the following science disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Life Sciences.
